That certainly will be a cool considering what they did with Avatar.
How can a movie that basically nobody watched can defeat the movie that basically everyone watched? I understand publicity and all but at this scale that is not a valid argument. I suppose the other one was so good that transformed the lives of the few enligthened people that watched it. How is possible that a director that saved a lot of money in post production due to his skills and set a standard to follow lost to his ex-wife for a movie wich budget for production + all sales to present probaly don't add to the opening weekend of the other one. I mean I saw a lot of people saying I am gonna watch the hurt locker again right?
I mean what is best movie? you award that title because nobody watch the movie, because nobody likes it, because the theme was so profound that nobody care? That is right best movie it is not the one people enjoy and made a point to see, best movie is the one that a bunch of highly professional and expert in the field say the masses should like because they like it. It is ay moments like this that you wonder do movie critics and all those people that work in the industry are in touch with the people that actually go to see the movies or it is just crap. They probably figure that people are stupid and they should be told what they should like and what not. My point here is that there is a limit to where the "artistitic" excuse can hold.
