AP: Netflix raises their prices by the largest percentage yet (most expensive plan is slightly more than HBO now). Wall Street approves.

Something has to give--most subscribers won't pay for all of 'em (Disney for kids, HBO, Hulu, comic book channel, Prime, etc. etc. {nm}

Agreed. Will be interesting to see how much Disney changes the streaming landscape. No doubt they will be a big player.

Hulu only just broke 25m subs (80+ short of Netflix). I’d expect Disney+ to initially land somewhere in that range

Disney Channel at peak drew 17.3 million viewers for a single airing of High School Musical 2 in 2007. So potential is there.

pixar will be there (after the Netflix license ends) but thats 20 films (22 after 2019)

Netflix has tons of content for kids. It'll be hard for parents to cancel. Disney would be an addition, not straight replacement.

As a parent, it's quantity over content for kids. There's a lot of terrible things on there, though I suppose kids are far less discerning.

they are, but its more complicated than just compete with netflix. they want to own the living room. thats where the competition is going.
