I remember when the original came out so clearly
Was in the middle of law school exams.
I saw it four times in four straight days.
This trailer looks spectacular. There were some flight scenes in the original that were stock footage, and some was obviously models. But I've read that for this one the Navy was on board 100%, and all the flight scenes were shot for the film.
Not sure if 1986 will repeat itself, but this thing should make a bazillion dollars in the age of IMAX and THX.
