i think some writer back in the day tried to crack the Fountain of Youth angle (tho it's maybe too similar to Crusade's Holy Grail)
but this is obviously HFORD's last time putting on the fedora in a feature so I would expect it to deal with themes of mortaility in some way.
could also go the Lost Horizon route and have him find Shangri-La as a way to leave his character in a place where he never really "dies" but fitting end for the archaeologist in him
