Film production wise definitely, they may want more time to lock in Amazon promotional partners/merchandise tie-ins
Considering how big branding/Amazon synergy is part of the pitch, if they're doing toys, etc, they would need to start production on those early next year at the latest to have ready for holiday season 2022. They may also be building in a safety net if COVID-19 causes a production shutdown.
