It doesn't really matter I guess. It really is over for all intent and purpose.
All of this stuff, like the Oscars in particular, for people that have lived with it for decades, it's over. The years of it mattering, of people considering it, thinking about all the films that made a difference, it's all over.
they might as well bring out the whole Marvel crowd at this point, if they decide to keep going and want an audience. Wonder Woman for actress, this Spiderman movie for screenplay, just do it, whatever.
I barely watched last year, and it ended up being a damn catastrophe, and I was right in that they never should have given out awards last year in the first place. It was perfectly awful. i would expect this year to be the same. The only companies with money to make movies at this point are TV stations for TV movies. So far as I can tell, there will NEVER be a TV movie winning an Oscar that will ever feel justified in my mind or heart. Last year really solidified that. The disposable quality of Net Trix; anything that comes out of a place like that, would never feel special or deserving of an award like what the Academy Award historically was.
Now? It's all over, so whatever.
So have Vin Diesel host or ScarJo next year, whatever.
