Saw Heat this afternoon at the Frida Cinema in Orange County; part of their "Michael Mannuary" series....

I try to catch this in a theater whenever possible. When I saw that the Frida was doing this Michael Mann fest I couldn't wait.

Today was the day.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the audio in the theater. Both the armored car robbery that sets the story in motion, and the later bullet festival of a bank robbery that marks the film's midpoint, were incredible there. Nice job with the sound folks.

As usual the film was absolutely riveting. One of the ultimate cat and mouse thrillers you'll see. It continues to be a completely immersive story, it just zips by and feels inevitable.

Great film. Looking forward to Collateral, which is coming up soon....
