Need For Speed total BO $43.5m, Gran Turismo (which is a 2nd attempt) 24 day expected BO IPO price $50m!
I know Sonic 2 set higher expectations for games -> movies but aside from Blomkamp being attached this doesn't have that much going for it (& his last release was kind of weird & didn't set the BO on fire). What is the reference point here (in terms of racing games -> movies or even car racing movies - Days of Thunder, Rush etc didn't set the BO on fire, even Ford vs Ferrari was moderately successful)? This is not Cars (ie animated - which changes ref pt) is it?
