Makes sense, though if Cregger does become the 2nd coming of James Wan for New Line that's not a bad position to be in (for the moment).
It's pretty clearly looking that the major studios are going horrifically over-saturate the market with horror over the next 1-2 years and James Wan/Jason Blum are going to wind up with the vast majority of prime horror film release dates. The draw-down probably won't be as bad as 3D wound up after the rushed post-conversions, but it's still not going to be pretty.
At least this way Cregger is guaranteed some short term huge paydays, so if the bottom falls out on horror, he'll probably have $20-30 million, worst case scenario earned.
