It's a little bit of a defensive implied threat to majors who may be thinking they don't need Feinberg/cutting back trades award spends
i.e. Apple did it and got nowhere this season, and he is implying that since A24 did it they may face rougher sledding next season.
Though of course it really was more Apple had a non-starter in Emancipation, wheras next season they have multiple titles
It the studios decide they don't need as much trade advertising/access given, then there's going to be fewer trades.
