I think there's definitely a level of brand distrust for their filmed entertainment at this point for a variety of reasons.
I think it would be wrong for them to revert entirely, but when you are known for 95 of 100 years of risk-averse, non-objectionable content, you are going to run into problems when you move away from that (obviously Deadpool - Wolverine could never be distributed by Disney of the past, and is their ray of hope for 2024, so there are exceptions). Obviously moving away from "it'll release when it's ready" is another issue, but Iger is as guilty of going against that as anyone, he refused to give JJ Abrams the time he wanted on his Star Wars films [though it would have resulted in STAR9 being held for years like TOP GUN MAVERICK due to COVID]
