Several parts of that article was inaccurate, and they haven't bothered to update or correct it.
There's no doubt that the way the article stands, they are actually communicating that the MPAA stood alongside Lionsgate (VP Michael Burns) in not pushing for the ban on box office futures trading - when in fact MPAA was the driving force.
That article is one piece of sloppy reporting. Guess they're run by a "skeleton staff" as well, over there - at the Wrap ;-) But they are down in my news feed here, connected to the HSX page, oddly enough.
