I LIVED in this movie theater for years. I gave the Cinematheque alot (both money and time). Part of me misses it and them.
I still haven't been able to work up the nerve to go back in there. The very idea is a little too sickening to me. I visualize that scene on Seinfeld (The Big Salad) where Elaine feels forced to accept a date from some creep. That look on her face; it's perfect and that's how i think i'd be going in there, literally giving money to the very entity trying to kill off what i love best.
Anyone else here who was a big fan of the place pre-pandemic, and has gone back?
I think i'd feel like a real dick going back in there. At the same time, i think most people don't really care THAT MUCH about the implication of it, and can pretty easily rationalize the implications away, and just go to a movie.
