If he was dead set on a FUROISA non Mad Max film, it should have been a sequel with Charlize. Arguably a de-aged Charlize would have had slightly better prospects as Anya Taylor Joy seemingly can't open a film whereas Charlize isn't a sure-thing for sure, but has opened a few films. Being stuck with an unmarketable looking Chris Hemsworth didn't help either.
