I'm in SoCal; I'm hoping, praying, that the American Cinematheque (or even better would be The FRIDA) decides to run this same program here at The Egyptian. Several years ago they did do a Melville retrospective that was quite good; this looks even better.
This could be the thing that forces me back into the Egyptian. I would like to see Le Cercle Rouge, Le Doulos, hell, all of them, on a big screen again. Silence of the Sea; I haven't seen that one in a theater, and i want to see Leon Morin Priest in a theater; it's one of the most unusual pieces of its kind ever. I'd like to see it on a double bill one day somewhere, with Black Narcissus.
If you happen to get any word on whether this is purely a one off at Film Forum, or if that series plans to move around, I'd appreciate your wisdom, as always. I know you're about as connected as anyone there regarding these kind of screenings and series.
Thank you.
