I'm curious how it was decided that USTPB and FLNTS (essentially the same movie) would be released by MGM in the same month
But the one produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon (who brought Amazon a decent theatrical hit in 2023 with Air) and starring JLO gets dumped into limited release during an insanely busy weekend (which I'm dubbing "Releaseapocalypse") while FLNTS (arguably the better movie with a screenplay by Barry Jenkins but only having Bryan Tyree Henry as its biggest star) gets a wide release on Christmas Day. I think either could have easily been moved to 2025, though I guess maybe they're hoping for awards love... but it's not happening. Haven't heard about either movie even though they both also debuted at TIFF.

USTPB is pretty weird since it's only getting a limited release but it's not on Prime Video until Jan 16 Nov 30, 08:34
