FWIW Jeff Sneider heard it will be DCU and he *thinks* James Gunn may direct himself...

"First up let’s talk Clayface. After the news broke that a Clayface movie was in development fans wondered where? As in, would this be a DCU project, or Elseworlds, or Matt Reeves The Batman universe? Matt reeves is a producer on the movie, however Sneider has heard from sources that the movie is indeed set in Gun’s DCU. Sneider even thinks, but is not claiming, that Gunn himself will direct it."
