Saw Nosferatu last night: Those actors just didn't cut it for me. Those leads just don't get the job done.

Thanks to Dafoe for adding a ray of sunlight to the proceedings. This thing is as oppressive as you'd imagine; but at the end of the day we found it simply boring. 


The three leads just don't cut it in this. None of them stand out. Taylor Johnson is particularly weak in this, as is Lily Rose Depp; lord knows why Eggers cast her of all people in this. I guess maybe we do know....but a mistake nonetheless. 

And Hoult. I guess he's okay here. I cannot figure out for the life of me why this guy keeps getting cast in every damn thing. 

You know: I was more mesmerized by the 28 Years Later trailer than i was through most of Nosferatu, but then i couldn't help but keep seeing Taylor Johnson in that trailer, so I probably won't hold too high a set of expectations for that. Still, I'm intrigued; that's one of the best trailers I've seen in the past few years.
