I remember the movie and I like it but I am not fan of the series.

To be honest the series feels like it cheapens the characters of the movie. Everyone is more of jerk. Almost same thing happens with Netflix  Avatar The Last Airbender, nice special effects but it feels like most characters lost 40 points of IQ. There was more story, dialogue, character development in the animation than in the 2010 movie and the series feels worse than the movie.
