It's not ideal but A LOT has changed since Alamo started looking at LA. For one, Tim is gone and Tim really really really wanted Alamo in LA

He tried to secure multiple locations in LA and it never worked out. Laemmle (!!!!!!!) got the Noho location. iPic got the Weho location. Los Felix? Tried but nope. He even tried to get three movie palaces in DTLA that were all on the same block and would have converted all three (like Mission in SF which is incredible imo) but couldnt make that work. So while the Bloc was never ideal, it actually happened. 


and #2, Alamo is expanding but the recent expansions into new markets havent worked. Like at all. The DC group (which is as meat and potatoes programming as alamo gets) is doing well and I think they are opening new ones but they might be it. They are just now getting Chicago close to working. So I would guess they are tapping the breaks about new corporate locations.

So yeah, DTLA is not ideal but its the best that Alamo can do, I would guess that might not change anytime soon
