What was that guy's childhood like exactly? 


Is there a auteur out there that makes more consistently bleak, nihilistic, dark films? Wow. 

Needless to say I saw Bugonia earlier this afternoon. Pretty fascinating, but wow, dark as night. I mean, what's the opposite of a happy ending; and it's like that in everything he does, right? 

He's impressive. He's going for a home run every time he comes up to bat; I admire him for that. I just wish he'd kept on using Rachel Weisz, because i think she was one of the most brilliant, underused stars of the past couple decades. And i don't see her doing all that much; she WAS the star of that underrated remake of Dead Ringers, in which she was fantastic. Just wish Yorgos still used her; I love Stone, don't get me wrong; she's great too. 

Anyway, I've got to go and try to keep from offing myself here tonight after watching that movie. Maybe I'll put on Dumb and Dumber or something....it seems oddly appropriate.
