But sources tell Page Six Hollywood that Ratner remains
locked in an ongoing legal battle stemming from the infamous
Charlotte
Kirk case, with new and explosive implications.
We’ve exclusively learned that the actress’ ex-boyfriend
filed a lawsuit against Ratner in October 2024, but it flew under the radar
because pseudonyms were used. The case has been playing out in Los Angeles
Superior Court, with Ratner listed as defendant “Clark Grandin.”
...
What is new and explosive in Newton v Grandin et al is
testimony involving Ratner’s alleged role in bringing the British actress to
the United States in 2012.
Back then, Kirk was a 20-year-old aspiring actress when
Ratner sponsored her 0-1 visa in a letter addressed to the Department of
Homeland Security U.S. Citizenship and Immigration division, according to court
papers.
According to an exhibit in Newton v. Grandin et al, Ratner
was questioned under oath by Kirk’s lawyer about the DHS letter and said he
would never hire Kirk “because she’s a horrible actress.” He also testified
that he told her “I can’t hire you. But I will happily write a letter of
recommendation.” The deposition was taken by videotape in 2023 because Ratner
was living in Tel Aviv at the time.
That testimony would come in stark contrast to
what he wrote in his letter to DHS. Knowingly submitting a deceitful letter to
the Department of Homeland Security would be a violation of the
false-statements statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1001 — and can be charged as a felony.
