I know it's too soon for the fall season, but have we discussed HOTBS at all here yet? I ask cuz it's a script I'd read quite awile back...

Now that the trailer has circulated out there, I was wondering what everyone thinks.

I happen to love the dog genre and i go see most of them. In this case, the original screenplay for this one was on the screeplay backlist, what seems like a decade ago or so. I thought this wouldn't ever see the light of day.

I wanted to just say; when i read the script, I thought that the set up was about as good as you could create for this sort of story, and the story take many familiar beats.

What really gets you with this story is THE ENDING. This script had what I considered at the time to be a pretty unforgettable ending. The kind that will really hit you over the damn head and turn you into a mess. I told my wife at the time, the ending alone must be worth 40-50 million of box office (this was before the pandemic LOL).

Anyway, i thought the ending really helped make the story, which otherwise would make for a pretty good genre film, an action/adventure film about a unique guy and an even more unique German Shepherd.

Did anybody else happen to read it (there's no source novel, it's an original), and if not what do you think about the trailer? The coudln't have found anyone better than Pitt to be the lead in this; it's his story all the way through.

Pitt was attached waay back when to the Coens' "To The White Sea" adaptation which this feels very much in the vein of {nm} shrimp head Jun 12, 15:57
