You really can't tell how frontloaded it will be or not until you see next weekend's numbers.

But dropping as much as it did from Weds to Thanksgiving isn't a good sign and I think seeing how well it does Saturday to Friday will also be telling. I feel that people who go to see movies on Thanksgiving are the casual moviegoers who wouldn't know a good movie from bad and they go see whatever seems the most appealing at that time. Next week, it's back to regular moviegoers and while I expect Tangled to be #1, it will drop 50% or more guaranteed.

A+ CinemaScore for Tangled, first of the year xiayun Nov 27, 13:21

Yea, but they also gave FCGRL an A so ::passes xiayun a grain of salt:: {nm} secretstalker Nov 27, 13:34

Yeah, CinemaScore is generally inflated, but A+, comparing to A and A-, is pretty rare and means great things more often than not xiayun Nov 27, 13:37

I watched Enchanted last night. That was a good flic. {nm} Vashta Nerada Nov 27, 13:51

Yeah, I liked it a lot too {nm} xiayun Nov 27, 13:56

I'm kind of surprised no one's ever made a porn remake of Enchanted. secretstalker Nov 27, 17:53

You mean 'Havoc' wasn't the porn version of 'Enchanted'? :-P {nm} DTravel Nov 27, 21:49

Enchanted was an A for me...Anne Hathaway's non-stop dainty hands in Alice In Wonderland reminded me of Amy Adams...lol {nm} tealfan Nov 28, 00:38

To complete my thought: A+ is especially meaningful for a pleasant film that could potentially attract all quadrants xiayun Nov 27, 13:55

The point is that CinemaScores are about as relevant as good or bad reviews secretstalker Nov 27, 14:09

I'm not indicating the two (CinemaScore and legs) as a causality, but rather a correlation FRDIRfund Nov 27, 14:15

I definitely expect 50%+ drop for Tangled too, given rarely any film would avoid it post-Thanksgiving, and family films tend to xiayun Nov 27, 14:41

But what are those mults against their 5-day weeks? (Particularly Enchanted?) secretstalker Nov 27, 14:43

For Enchanted it's 3.605 for 5-day, which would put Tangled way over $200m total, but I'd consider 3-day multiplier is a better xiayun Nov 27, 14:56

Sorry, wrong math :( , it's 2.605, which would give Tangled $177m {nm} xiayun Nov 27, 14:57

That's not the mult for delist... I just did the math myself and Enchanted delisted with 1.87 times the five-day amount. secretstalker Nov 27, 15:01

That's exactly what I touched on, SS xiayun Nov 27, 15:05

is there something wrong with the boards where responses get posted directly underneath rather than indented at a certain point in a thread? {nm} secretstalker Nov 27, 15:35

I guess so... guess the new HSX doesn't want the boards to be broken in long threads... still kinda annoying {nm} secretstalker Nov 27, 15:35

they can't indent forever, you'd have a long vertical line of single letters in the most involved conversations {nm} jane_citizen Nov 27, 16:05

But isn't the premise of "Inception" that you can indent forever? :) {nm} second gary Nov 27, 18:14

More like you can go down deep and end up in limbo {nm} RogerMore Nov 27, 19:33
