It could still work, though... JOE was neither fish nor fowl.. So here's my freshly tweeked personal guideline:

Afficionado geek movies: Go opposite of SS

Female oriented, romance-tinged dramedies: Go with SS' advice based on female friends' prefs..

(Disclaimer: If a movie based on a cartoon or something in the same vein - whatever that would be, fifties' sci-fi TV series? - is not met with approval by geek afficionados, it doesn't count towards the former. In those cases, SS will usually be in the money.. )
