It's something you've really got to watch, especially if your looking at a Star in a movie you think may have a good run...
Take Actors on the Blind Side and the Help. In the Blind Side, the movie delisted at 150M and went on to gross an additional 100M, while the Help delisted at 125M and made about 45M more. For the Blindside that's an additional $20 a share and $9 for The Help, which are nice bumps. I find animated films, Awards bait, and films released around Christmas do this the most, so watch out for those.
