Why would you base it on purchase price. If i hold long enough, the current price could go past adjust and I would be holding wrong.

For example, if I buy a stock at 59 and it is to adjust to 51, i short it.  After a few months, let's say it goes past that and is now valued at 49.  I should be holding it long, but am still shorting it.  That's not a healthy position.  If you insist and calc from the purchase price, the only thing the chart does is prove that I made a good initial investment.  it does not highlight stocks I am now holding wrong.

This is potentially the best tool developped by 3rd party.  But it is less useful if it is not showing me the CURRENT health of my port.

@elchan, your port checker isn't working. Looks like the quantity held is slipped one column. Also, when it was "working" the green/red PVL Admin Apr 20, 14:16

Working fine for me, and I'm not seeing any errors from others. Make sure that the format is correct. It is based on purch price and adj. elchan Apr 20, 14:59

Used to work. Since Portmonkey changes, it does not....for me. PVL Admin Apr 20, 16:13

Just tried it with portmonkey. EXACT same results as without. {nm} PVL Admin Apr 20, 16:17

Figured out the issue - you need to fix something. When I cut/paste my port directly into your input, it is tab separated. PVL Admin Apr 20, 16:28

also, the green ain't right. Current price 58. Adjust price 51. position is LONG. Green. Not right. Should be red as in, not making $$ {nm} PVL Admin Apr 20, 16:29

The regex is supposed to replace the tabs with one space. I'll check on that. But the check is based on purch price, not current price. elchan Apr 20, 17:46

Why would you base it on purchase price. If i hold long enough, the current price could go past adjust and I would be holding wrong. PVL Admin Apr 20, 23:14

Yes, but for it to drop from 51 to 49 means there's a flip in position, due to the fact that the next adjust will drop the bond's TAG... elchan Apr 21, 08:12

Also another argument for my method is that it's kinda irrelevant what the current price is ... elchan Apr 21, 08:59

Totally disagree... I'll try to explain better PVL Admin Apr 21, 10:36

If it shoots past the next TAG then the bond is over bought. This means that you are making more money ... elchan Apr 21, 12:00

I'm not saying your POV is wrong, just I have to choose a health criterion, maybe someone can suggest a way I can represent both situations. {nm} elchan Apr 21, 12:17

But what happens when it goes PAST the intended adjust point, but still is going to adjust. It will still show green even though I am PVL Admin Apr 21, 10:23

Answered above ... {nm} elchan Apr 21, 12:01

Also. for maximum benefit/usage, you really need a way to remove the zero box office movies from the next adjust. {nm} PVL Admin Apr 21, 10:41

Yes this makes sense. Was meaning to do it, and just did. (Added an SQL clause to exclude movies with 0 gross as reported by HSX) elchan Apr 21, 12:16

I don't know what you mean by 'regular search', but comparison of purchase price and expected TAG is useless. not2fast Apr 23, 10:38

If you're not aware, I have a web site which presents bond tags, pre-calculated in table form. Here are the links: elchan Apr 23, 17:16

I have the same issue as PVL. {nm} Panachevitz Apr 21, 13:38

Which one? Multiple tabs or with the comparison to purchase price? {nm} elchan Apr 21, 16:02

The original technical problem, tab issues with importing data into the spreadsheet. {nm} Panachevitz Apr 21, 18:16

I made a change an just tested it with a port monkey copy&paste. See if it's improved. elchan Apr 22, 07:54

nope, still won't add in the position held column, which is filled by the quantity. Panachevitz Apr 22, 19:39

The port monkey support is limited, because it colour codes the position. You will not get an assessment. elchan Apr 22, 23:29

Hope this helps. Firefox is problematic (not port monkey). Explorer works fine PVL Admin Apr 23, 10:49

That helps. I need to add to the regex to replace all multiple spaces with one space. Thanks! {nm} elchan Apr 23, 20:54

Yep, I made the change and now multiple spaces and tabs should work. elchan Apr 23, 21:04

It works and looks beautiful! Thanks! :D {nm} Panachevitz Apr 23, 21:35

What is a port checker? Can I get a link please? {nm} Rigit Apr 23, 09:55

Here's the link to the port checker: elchan Apr 23, 17:11
