Over 40 years ago at a concert at Gailic Park in the Bronx, Pete saie:

Thankfully, it took him so long to "learn how it goes"
For his entire adult life, he was fighting the good fight. From the Viet Nam wars, to Migrant Workers rights. From Civil Rights to Voting Rights to Women's Rights to Gay Rights. From cleaning up the waters of America to singing out against nuclear proliferation around the world.
If there was a march, a cause, a voice needed, he was there. Not to become rich, but because it was the right thing to do.
God just picked up a really great banjo player for his heavenly band
