As to how they work, or how to place them?
I'll explain both. To place limit orders, just use the advanced trader, inputing the ticker, # of shares, buy/sell/short/cover, the price and when it will expire (default and longest is a month out).
ON HSX, limit orders are "at a set price OR BETTER", so that means that if you are waiting to sell a stock or bond that is at currently at 150 and you want to sell or short it at 155, enter the limit at 155 and it will execute only when it gets to 155. Same for shorting. The "or better" would be a higher price. This means you cannot use limits as stop losses. i.e. In the same sitation, if you want to cut your losses if same stock goes to 145 and you enter a limit at 145, it will execute immediately, since the current price of 150 is better. Opposite is true for buying and covering price-wise.
So, in the instance of AVNG4, I entered all of my sell orders just under the adjust price, so that as soon as they adjust, the sells will execute.
