Well I don't really want to make this a political discussion, but...
Yes, he did inherit the wreck, but he also majorly wrecked the economy all by his own efforts without anyone else's help. Obamacare, banning short selling of stocks when people could've made profits doing it, pouring money down the drain in pointless bailouts... Here's my suggestion to solve the financial crisis: Pass a law that every 7 years or however long, all debts are automatically cancelled. Frees up liquidity, reduces the debt burden, puts the losses where they should belong (in the bank's profit and loss, not ours), encourages the banks to lend responsibly otherwise they'll lose a huge chunk of their capital, and stimulates the economy by allowing those debtholders to have more purchasing power because they don't have to keep forking out money for loan repayments. Whaddaya think?
