As regarding state vs. federal government, you make an excellent point, and it's essentially what Obama said, that although he's now for gay marriage he understands states can still ban it since it's the state government that regulates it. I agree in the sense that I don't want the federal government getting in the marriage business.
My only point was that policy decisions have to be made based on something other than emotion, which was the driving force behind one of the earlier posts. Then when there was question as to why certain people are against this particular issue, I though I'd mention what the conventional conservative wisdom was.
But that's all. Not here to grind a social or religious or political ax, and quite frankly I'm surprised that that's how I've been pigeon-holed, but no big deal. I have thicker skin than that.
