CBSSPORTS: FIFA Says Goal-Line Technology To Be Used At 2014 World Cup. MLB Following Suit In 2188. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 19, 22:32

You've got the MLB date transposed it's 2818 {nm} JDolphin Feb 19, 22:50

Umm, MLB already use Instant Replays for home runs (the equivalent of goals). {nm} Antibody Feb 19, 23:04

MLb is just umpires looking at video - this is using laser and imbedded sensors, etc to computerize and make instant rulings {nm} JDolphin Feb 20, 02:05

MLB's problem is more complex, you know with different stadium setups, fans involved in plays, it's much more distance to cover... {nm} slappydavid Feb 20, 04:51

No real MLB fans is asking for baseballs embedded with sensors and foul lines/strike zones with lasers. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 08:58

How do you know? Just speculation or over-generalization. <'are asking'>. (Plural noun - singular verb). {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 09:47

From the lack of written articles/proposals from sports writers and fan sites. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 10:23

Please identify one formal study to support your claim. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 11:32

Huh, a study on a lack of studies? Uh, the onus is on you if you want to refute the lack of proposals from sportswriters/fans. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 12:25

Exactly what do you have against full Instant Replay in MLB? Even Bowling has Instant Replay. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 12:37

Nothing. Baseball embedded with sensors and fields with lasers is not the same thing as Instant Replay. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 12:40

Electronic Line Judges have been used in Tennis & Curling for years. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 12:51

Oh, and you get to watch it on the ... Wait For It ... Wait For It .... Instant Replay. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 12:53

JDolphin said "Computers making Instant Ruling", not humans reviews Instant replay. No baseball fans is asking to completely remove umpires {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 13:14

Why would you bring up the 'Complete removal of umpires'. Nobody said that. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 13:51

NHL, NFL & NBA do not use electronic to make instant rulings, they have humans reviewing instant replays. Please stop confusing the two. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 14:27

Never said they did. Not confusing them at all. You are the one confused with the 'complete removal of umpires'. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 14:38

That's the path you go down once you allow computersto make instant rulings. MLB already has Instant Replay that serves the same purpose Antibody Feb 20, 14:48

Please. Both tennis and curling have been enhanced by Electronic Line Judges. Both still have Umpires. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 15:00

Where have I said I'm against Instant Replay? This is where you are confusing Instant Ruling with Instant Replay. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 15:06

Not confusing them at all. Why are you so dead set against Elecronic Line Judging? RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 15:20

FIFA is only introducing it for the goal, not the side lines or offsides. Like I said, MLB already has instant replay to review Home runs. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 15:38

MLB is no different from NHL, NBA and NFL for not having any electronic line judging.. {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 15:08

MLB is very different from the NHL, NBA & NFL in its steadfast refusal to use Instant Replay extensively. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 15:49

Why are you bashing MLB for lack of electronic line judges when neither NHL, NBA nor NFL use it?! {nm} Antibody Feb 20, 15:55

Thanks for the chat. Please send my regards to your uncle Bud. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 18:01

Resorting to personal attacks 'cause you got nothing left. MLB has as much instant replay as NHL and MLB. Good try. {nm} Antibody Feb 21, 09:54

..and NBA. {nm} Antibody Feb 21, 09:55

Well, you were right about one thing - MLB does have as much Instant Replay as MLB. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 21, 12:57

Nitpicking again just to deflect the subject. Calling Bud my uncle is nothing but an insult. {nm} Antibody Feb 21, 14:18

Sarcasm, good buddy, Sarcasm. Nailed subject Head-On. Oh, an insult to whom? {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 21, 14:24

Why is it that you call it 'Nitpicking' every time you get burnt bad. {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 21, 14:31

Typos and grammatical mistakes are getting burned? Let;s recap the thread. Antibody Feb 21, 15:10

Official Facts Thread Review. RotoHockeyYTD2013 Mar 05, 13:48

When you say 'real MLB fans', are you suggesting that there are 'fake MLB fans'? {nm} RotoHockeyYTD2013 Feb 20, 11:34
