Gearing up for landscapers tomorrow, so we go get bushes, flowers, etc. We then get home and rearrange the garage bays so we can make room for annual garage sale next week. I'm getting all the patio furniture out, the golf cart moved tightly fit into the 4th bay, etc. etc. gosh darn etc. It took some time, and a lot of heavy lifting for a good while. Round 3pm finishing up and the wifey wants me to start bring up tables and stuff for sale from the basement.
I hear a scream from inside the house, inside the basement... "Clayton, we have 6 inches of water in the basement." She comes running at me with this news and I look at her in disbelief. We rarely go down there because it's not finished (thankfully).
However, it's 2000 sq ft down there and 60% of it has our crap (belongings, not real crap) on the floor.
So within the hour I have a company pulling up the water but while they are doing that we're ridding ourselves of all the cardboard boxes. Let me tell you, that's a freaking mess to deal with. I will never store anything in cardboard again. We have tons of plastic totes, but looks like a lot more trips to the container store in my future.
As soon as the water guy is packing up 2 and a half hours later, Roto Rooter pulls up and starts their work.
Total cost between the two companies was $925, but the real headache is I just got sat down about 30 minutes ago from an exhausting day.
Tomorrow I'll be directing landscapers, building steel shelving in the basement and trying to get at least one pair of Pacer tickets sold. Then I'll be heading downtown for the game. I'd say if the Pacers are down 25 by half this might be the worst weekend in several years. I'm exhausted and just felt like typing... Off to bed ladies and gentlemen. Sleep well.
