One stock,as in BABA? No way in hell.
First of all, look at Google. It came public over a decade ago and it is up about 15x from its IPO price. Great, but it did not make anyone a multi millionaire unless you invested a million dollars at the IPO.
Apple is up about 40x, over the last decade, but who knew to buy Apple when the iPhone came out?
Facebook, give me a break, it hasn't even doubled from its IPO. These things are all down to valuation. Google IPOed at about a $26 billion valuation. Apple was about a $40 billion company 10 years ago. Facebook IPOed at over a $100 billion valuation, hence the poor return so far. Alibaba has now IPOed at a $220 billion valuation (at $90 per share, the first price you could buy shares). So, you think BABA will be the first multi trillion dollar company by market cap. Get real.
However, the early investors in all of these companies, all of them are now billionaires. They won the biggest lottery ticket of them all, because THEY TOOK THE RISK THAT IT WOULD FAIL.
