Does anyone else here see the optical perceptional differences between locking arms and kneeling, or raising a fist?
In case you didn't catch the POTUS comment.

Standing with locked arms is perceived as supportive, kneeling is perceived as disrespect.
Locked arms portrays unity which is fine. I could lock arms in unity with someone on the sideline as a display of support. While protesting with locking arms, one is not also perceived as disrespecting at the same time. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used this in his famous marches to great effect.
Kneeling portrays non-participation, separation from, and a lack of appreciation for those that gave their lives for our flag and country.
Raising a fist gives the same optical perception as "I will hurt you", or raising ones middle finger. Not much support there.
