Dictionary.com: Showdown= "decisive confrontation". Not sure how that showdown doesn't equal war.

Especially when the definition actually includes:

a conclusive settlement of an issue, difference, etc., in which all resources, power, or the like, are used; decisive confrontation

 

How does that NOT mean war??
