Yes, and won't those countries want a do-over when the next American president reverses the policy? Perhaps they will
engage in a mass flag-burning to show their position on Israel?
I understand why some American conservatives are making Israel -- support for right-wing Israeli belligerence in particular -- a left-right divisor in America. They are selfish, are hoping for short-term partisan advantage, and see Israel as fulfilling a role in precipitating their superstitious aspirations, at which point expect to watch all of the Jews hurled directly into eternal hellfire and damnation.
But why anyone who genuinely cares about Israel or Israelis engages in this counterproductive, risky conduct is difficult to understand. The consequence of their conduct is likely to include providing to Israel a chance to learn how it would fare without American military, political, and economic skirts to hide behind. Most Americans dislike right-wing belligerence at home-- why would they continue to subsidize it, at great and varied cost, in Israel?
Oh, well... it's their funeral.
