My take is the people who know it’s bull**** and are frustrated are already voting Dem, and the people who don’t, or who are willing to hold
their nose are unchanged. Trump proved in 2016 that he could go after families of veterans who were killed in combat, or that he could be caught on tape boasting about sexual assault without repercussions.
Not that I don’t see a Dem House majority come November, but I don’t think Trump dropping casual n-bombs would be a surprise to anyone or will make them think “Boy, racism, he’s lost my vote”. We’ll see the usual progression from “he never said it” to “He was taken out of context” (“he used the -a ending, not the hard -er ending, it’s totally cool”) to “it’s good that he said it! He’s not afraid to say it!”
