Forgot to mention, businesses start (and create jobs) to fulfill a demand.

If no one wants type 23 Widgets, companies to make and sell type 23 Widgets aren't started or expanded.  Same thing with furniture, clothing, home improvement supplies, insurance, cars, appliances, etc.  If people can't afford them, there is no demand for them for companies to make money supplying them.  The US has been trying Trickle Down Economics (which is what "Don't tax the rich so they can create jobs" IS) since at least Reagan.  IT DOESN'T WORK.

Federal Reserve: the top 1% have made $29 trillion (with a T) since 1989. the bottom 50%, not so much professor zovek Jun 17, 11:14

The 1% create jobs so that the 99% can earn money. They deserve to make tons of money. The bottom 50% made poor life choices {nm} Nobody Jun 17, 12:05

The median income in the US is $61,372 in 2017. According to you, anyone making under that has made poor life choices. Antibody Jun 17, 14:59

That's household income, which is typically two incomes. So each person makes approx. $30K which is about $14/hour. If you can't make more.. Nobody Jun 18, 10:00

No, they don't. DTravel Jun 17, 15:04

Those born into the 1% also did nothing to create jobs so they should give up all their inheritance and make their own $. {nm} Antibody Jun 17, 15:11

On what basis does the government have a right to your ALREADY TAXED assets rather than you deciding who gets them? {nm} forlorne Jun 18, 05:57

On Nobody (a.k.a psisson) 's basis that only job creators deserve to make tons of money. {nm} Antibody Jun 18, 09:07

Oh no, doxxed! Yes those who create jobs for the 99% to earn a living "deserve" to make gobs of money. {nm} Nobody Jun 18, 09:52

Who do you think develops and manufactures and markets those products and services? Not the 99% {nm} Nobody Jun 18, 09:51

Small businesses, started and owned by the 99%, are responsible for more job creation than large corporations. {nm} DTravel Jun 18, 10:36

That's a "damning indictment of capitalism"? Envy is not a good look. Capitalism has been the biggest driver of the most people in history forlorne Jun 17, 13:39

If that bottom 50% is better off than they were before, what's your beef? So many people would rather they made 5% forlorne Jun 17, 13:42

"Socialism has been the impoverishment and death of hundreds of millions." There are many of wealthy people around Europe tatoufan Jun 17, 14:08

Huh? Where is Europe is there socialism? Having social welfare programs and socialism are 2 VERY different things. {nm} forlorne Jun 18, 05:56
