Fleabag just knocked me out completely. In every way.
It's got it all. It's so smart. It's funny as hell. It's so sad. It's gripping. It's just spot on in every way you can think. The writing, the performances, And just the overall vision of this program is staggering. I was overwhelmed by it.
This is one of the more impressive achievements I've had the sheer pleasure of taking in and measuring. We're talking about an artist at the peak of their game. Powerful, it just feels so real.
There've been a few films this year that I've found to be quite involving. I've enjoyed Parasite, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, both of those are very sharp, smart, and both of them do a wonderful job of mixing humor, sadness, and sophistication in their own, uniquely original ways. But Fleabag; wow, that knocked me out.
