Lots of things reduce spread. Weather is one. Even if the we are out of flu season, it can still spread. COVID-19 has a high R0 value, so even in better weather, it'll still spread. But it is more manageable. Add in social distancing (2 meter), wearing masks, washing hands, and you reduce the spread.
