People are walking into the candy store(forgive me Potterites for not knowing the names of the stores) and spending $60-$70 bucks a pop. Thats after standing in line to get into the store. The same holds true no matter which store you enter. The area itself is clearly not large enough for the entusiasm it is generating. The candy store is the cheapest of the stores. People were shelling out a $100 for a robe in another store and there were a good number of people walking around Hogsmeade wearing their new acquired garb.
We stayed at one of the 3 on site hotels and so were allowed early admission and still had to cope with lines but the dedication of those coming in for the day for elsewhere was truly amazing. The line to get into that area of the park(yes a line to simply walk through) was 90 minutes to 2 hours long. The wait to get onto the main ride was an additional 2 hours long. That second two hours is an easier wait since you spend much of it inside the castle itself which apart from the ride is its own attraction. Want to buy a wand after a choosing ceremoney? Yup,thats another line with an average wait of at least an hour.
As for the crowd,we heard many languages spoken whenever we went there. Its drawing people from around the globe. Other areas of the park suffered somewhat from the absolute need of people to see this exhibit. Sinbad was especially hard hit and could probably be closed to extend the Wizarding World and hopefully permit more people to get in and ease the congestion.
The workers in that area(my 20 year old daughter for whom we took this trip spoke to almost every one of them we encountered) werer all knowledgeable, friendly and really into their jobs.(If they weren't there are many ready for Hollywood).
To tie this up i will say that if the next two movies generate the kind of enthusiam the park is then they will be huge hits. Not everyone standing on line was a Potter fan but the ones that were infected the rest of us. Its not any attraction that will have people standing in lines like the ones in the parks with 90 degress or better beating down on you.
One last thing. More red heads thatn anywhere else in the world! Must be a Weasly thing.
