If you want to see what's causing the price movement you have to copy/save the share totals and compare them to a later time. The total
shares traded doesn't tell you how many were bought or sold, long or short.
Depending on how fast the stock is moving, that may mean 5 minutes or 1 hr later. Even that doesn't tell you the whole story if there is a more even long vs short position.
