Most of this stuff can easily be solved or simplify to a lesser degree.
As far as "And then the angry letters come flooding into Support". You receive those anyway when something happen and from time to time stuff happens, some you ignore, other not. So you can ignore those kind of letters, there is no the difference. Any how you should always have a manual override to correct some stuff like the exceptions which I imagine is what you guy do now when a movie goes from limited to wide. So is just a display of that calculation since you already do the work, I imagine you guys verify those date from time to time to make adjustments or to correct errors.
If you write or post all exceptions I can (give it a good try) write you a formula in excel to calculate this date having in concideration those execeptions. You later make that code in whatever language you use and presto. Please also consider which are HSX holidays for 4 day weekends and I will incorporate that too. Also post what you prefer as a basis for starting a wide or limited field or the number of theaters.
Suggestion: Would HSX maybe consider including a Delist Date on the movie pages? I think it would be very helpful. {nm} Feb 07, 10:35
