In this modern retelling of William Shakespeare's "The Taming of Shrew," Australian newcomer Heath Ledger stars as Patrick, a cocky high school senior who is "hired" to date a petulant student named Kat.
Complications arise when he finds himself falling in love with the young woman he has set out to tame. Meanwhile, Cameron is in love with Bianca , but she won't be allowed to date until her sister Kat is also dating.
Featured among the ensemble are Andrew Keegan, Susan May Pratt and Allison Janney as Ms. Perky, an impossibly cheery high school guidance counselor. This film marks the directorial debut of Gil Junger.
