Law & Order takes headlines from the real news and twists them a little to make an interesting television show that deals with the stories of the time. The show has been airing since 1990 and is the longest running drama on television.
Law & Order boasts a stellar cast that includes Sam Waterston, Jerry Orbach, and Angie Harmon. Although there have been a number of high-profile departures from the cast, Law & Order remains current and continues to delight longtime fans, while bringing in new viewers each season. NBC holds the rights to all new episodes, while A&E reruns episodes every night Monday through Friday. This year, Law & Order earned six Emmy nominations.
