In this Patrice Leconte movie, nominated for Best Foreign Language Film by the Golden Globes, a distraught girl leans over a bridge on the River Seine, when a knife-thrower saves her by employing her as the human target for his show. Along their Mediterranean performance tour, the girl elopes with another man to Greece, while the knife-thrower remains in Turkey. The unlucky girl gets dumped by her paramour and soon realizes that she needs to return to her knife-throwing savior.
