Michael Winterbottom's controversial docudrama The Road to Guantanamo comes to the US through Roadside Attractions. The film tells the true story of three British Muslims who went to Pakistan for a wedding and found themselves in Guantanamo, Cuba as prisoners of the US Army. They had decided to visit Afghanistan, but ended up getting caught along with Taliban soldiers. The three Brits were held for two years before they were released without being charged. The real-life detainees also appeared in the film to relate their experience. The film won the Silver Bear at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival.
