Andie MacDowell stars as a wife who is unwilling to believe that her husband is dead in Harrison's Flowers. A photojournalist is listed as missing after going into war-torn Yugoslavia. His wife, played by MacDowell, refuses to believe his death and locks herself in her room watching CNN. After she spots her "dead" husband among a group of prisoners, she makes arrangements to go to Yugoslavia and find him.
Set in 1991, the film is the first English-language feature by French director Elie Chouraqui, who co-wrote the script with Isabel Ellsen, Michael Katims and Didier Le Pecheur. Harrison's Flowers is produced through Le Studio Canal Plus and distributed by Universal Focus.
