The animated film The Illusionist is about a mime who goes to a remote community to find work. He meets a young woman who believes he is a real magician. Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville) directed the film from an unproduced screenplay that French mime and artist Jacques Tati created in 1956.
